About us
History: Our predecessor, Second Renaissance Book
Service, Inc. (SRB), was founded in 1985. SRB has featured the most complete
selection of Ayn Rand's writings and lectures available. SRB's first Web site was
RationalMind.com. Second Renaissance, Inc., was formed in January 2001, by the merger
of SRB, Lyceum International Inc., and Second Renaissance Conferences Inc.
Aynrandbookstore.com is owned and operated by Second Renaissance, Inc., which is
owned and operated by the Ayn Rand Institute as of February 2003.
Across a wide array of subjects, our titles present
(implicitly or explicitly, in part or in whole): the efficacy and value of
reason—the virtues of individual achievement, and its guarantor, individual
rights—the practicality of freedom and capitalism. In other words: ideas
for the rational mind.
Trademarks: "Ayn Rand" is a trademark of the Estate
of Ayn Rand. The use of the trademark by Second Renaissance, Inc. is by license from
the Estate of Ayn Rand.

How to shop online in our
store
One way to simply begin browsing the
site is to click on the links in the left menu on any page.
When you've found the perfect item, you can easily order it:
- Click on any picture or the text link next to it, to see more information about the item.
- Enter the quantity you would like to order in the appropriate box.
- Once you have made your selections, simply click on "Add to shopping cart." You will
receive a confirmation message when you add an item to your shopping cart.
- You can review the contents of your cart at any time by selecting "Cart" from the top
of any page.
- You may continue to add items, select another item to view, visit other sections within
the site, or proceed to checkout.
Use one of our specialized searches: Our specialized
searches will help you find exactly what you are looking for based on your preferences. You
can enter keywords, item numbers, catalog numbers, author names, or categories. The Search
facility can be accessed from the top of any page.
Order from our site by item number: If you have a print
catalog or know the item number you wish to order, simply enter the catalog number into the
search box and click "Search."
How to check an item's
availability
If you do not have a catalog, enter the item title or author's
name into the search field and do a search of the online bookstore. If you do not find
the item or would prefer to receive a copy of our printed catalogue, please contact our
customer service representatives at

and sales tax
We accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover.
We collect 7.25% sales tax on all orders shipped to California addresses. For orders
shipped within Orange County, California, the sales tax rate is 7.75%.
